About Justine Henin
Career
Henin’s one-handed backhand and all-court movement made her a distinctive force in women’s tennis. She won seven major singles titles, including four French Opens and two US Opens. Her balance, footwork, and ability to change pace helped her control long rallies, especially on clay.
Record and legacy
Henin reached world No. 1 and won the 2004 Olympic gold medal in singles. She retired in 2008, returned in 2010, and ended her professional career in 2011. Three consecutive French Open victories from 2005 to 2007 place her among a small group to achieve that run.
