David Ortiz was a Dominican-American designated hitter famously nicknamed “Big Papi” and strongly associated with the Boston Red Sox. He was a central figure in multiple World Series championships and became one of the era’s most clutch postseason hitters. Ortiz was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022.
