Rollie Fingers was an American relief pitcher whose career ran from 1968 to 1985 and who became one of the defining closers of the 1970s and early 1980s. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and is closely associated with the Oakland Athletics era in which the closer role became a centerpiece of roster construction.
