Earth

The lens of grounding and embodied stability
Summary

In Human Design, Earth represents grounding—how you stabilize and “land” the Sun’s life-force theme in the body and in day-to-day reality.

Earth is always opposite the Sun in the Mandala. If the Sun is the initiating impulse, Earth is the counterweight that makes the impulse livable: balance, embodiment, and steadiness.

Transit Cycle
Cycle
≈5.7 days per gate

Earth transits act like the practical “gravity” for the current Sun theme. They show where to slow down, simplify, and build stability while the larger program is running.

If you feel ungrounded during a Sun transit, look to the Earth Gate for the antidote: the behavior, focus, or posture that helps you integrate the moment.

Personality and Design

Earth appears on both sides of the chart. On the Personality side it can feel like conscious ways you seek stability; on the Design side it describes more unconscious grounding capacities that support you over time.
